This patient now blends seamlessly into his natural smile—and we’re confident he’ll be smiling more and holding nothing back.

What is internal bleaching?
Internal bleaching is used for teeth that have darkened from the inside—often after trauma or a root canal.

Instead of whitening the surface, a gentle bleaching agent is placed inside the tooth, where the discoloration lives. Over a series of visits, the tooth lightens from within and blends naturally with the surrounding teeth.

How long does it last?
Results typically last a few years, and in some cases are permanent. Touch-ups are rarely needed.

This year marks our 12th anniversary, the completion of our practice expansion, and my transition from sole ownership to partnership alongside Dr. McMahan, Dr. Cortez, Dr. Tijerina, and our incredible manager Ashley.

Grateful doesn’t begin to cover how I feel about this team. What started as a vision has grown into a practice built on trust, excellence, and people who truly care — for our patients and for each other.

We’re thrilled to introduce Dr. Hector Tijerina to the Great White Dental family! Hector brings over 10 years of experience, a DDS, and a master’s degree from the Texas McCombs School of Business — but what really sets him apart is the way he listens and connects with every patient.

Outside of dentistry, he’s a devoted husband and father who loves exploring Austin with his wife, Cristina, and their three boys.

I addition, Hector and Dr Martinez go way back — all the way to 2004, when they met in college. Having a longtime friend join the practice makes this moment extra special.

Get to know your docs:
Dr. Bobby Cortez has been practicing dentistry for fourteen years and has always been passionate about caring for people and staying at the forefront of innovation in dentistry. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 2011. Upon graduation, he was honored with two distinctions awarded to only one student in his class: the Certificate of Distinction in Research and the Oral Biology Award, recognizing his dedication and contributions to oral science.

Outside of the office, Dr. Cortez has been happily married for five years and is a proud father to his son Bryce and God daughter Alex. He enjoys spending time with his family, staying active with fitness, playing golf, and perfecting the art of Texas Barbecue.
His passion for people, combined with his clinical expertise, is what makes Dr. Cortez a perfect fit for Great White Dental, where building lasting relationships for our community come first.
