We scroll past affirmations every day on social media. We might even try a few on for size. But often, they don't quite fit. They feel hollow, or your inner critic immediately points out how they don't match your reality.
That's because healthy, helpful inner language isn't generic. It's tailored specifically to you.๐ก
There are two main ways to check the fit of your inner language:
โ
1. The Feel: A perfectly tailored phrase feels good in your body. It brings a sense of comfort and ease (a soothing "Ahhhh") or a feeling of power and capability (an energizing "Yeah!"). If it lands in the body as a "meh," it's not the right fit.
โ
2. The Believability: It has to get past your inner critic's "BS meter." If you say, "I am attracting wealth" when you're actually feeling overwhelmed by bills, your critic might laugh. But "I allow myself to take the next small step to financial freedom" might start to pacify the critic.
The inner language that fits you perfectly one season might not work in the next. The key is to keep coming back to yourself, the true expert, for a fitting.
