If that nagging cough has been ongoing for over a week, it be the whooping cough (pertussis).
Treatment requires antibiotics called macrolides and supporting cough suppression medications will get you back to 100%.

This teenager was pushed by his friend when horseplaying and fell onto his backpack right before school started. The school nurse noticed something rigid at the puncture site and sent him for medical care.

No one knew what it was.

Luckily, Dr A was able to remove the item and there wasn't injury to internal organs. Literally missed by millimeters!

This woman who is 60 years old went to Belize in June and described multiple bug bites.
Fast forward 6 weeks when she noticed a mass increasing in size on her right thigh.
A black center was noticed. She squeezed the lesion but no pus came out, just "a small crater" was created. An astute family member heard about adding this honey adhesive (see photo) onto a bandage to remove parasites.
When she removed the bandage...there it was..about the size of a watermelon seed.
Stuck onto the adhesive was a BOTFLY!!
😲 🫨 🫢
She put it in alcohol and placed it in a jar to show me. She was concerned as she felt more masses on her groin.
There were no more botflies. Instead the masses she felt on her groin were her lymph nodes reacting to the skin infection caused by the burrowing BOTFLY!
We were able to prescribe the right medications and reassure her.

Mr. Flores brings with him 32 years of experience as a community healthcare provider on the Southside. His dedication to the underserved is evident through his committed work at various and diverse Community Health Centers, including those serving special populations in and around the San Antonio area. He holds a B.S. degree in PA Studies from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and is Board Certified.
