Happy Myth Buster Monday! Today's myth is that acupuncture only works due to the placebo effect, which is a medical/scientific phenomenon where a treatment only works because the subject/patient believes it works.

Contrarily, acupuncture has been shown to have real physiological systems independent of belief in a variety of scientific trials. For example, animal studies and fMRI studies have both created scenarios where belief is not a cofactor of the study, yet physiological changes still presented!
