MITSloan found that among nurses who quit, toxic culture is more than twice as predictive of their overall satisfaction than their compensation or workload. For those teams and facilities doing it right, we salute you! For those that have room for improvement there's never been a better time to focus on your people than now.

If we want to we need to make nurse satisfaction a priority and it starts here.

It's unfortunate that this article had to be written. While nurses haven't quit at the rate AMN indicated in their survey, nurse satisfaction scores are the lowest in a decade.

Every day, we hear from nurses who are on the brink of breaking yet hold the line for their loved ones, patients, and themselves. It's important to realize that just because they haven't quit yet doesn't mean they aren't either on their way out or operating in a state of burnout, directly impacting the patients they care for.

We can and will continue to improve. Hopefully, this marks the beginning of a journey in the right direction.



A January 2023 nurse survey fueled fears of an exodus, as 85% of those in hospital roles said they planned to quit within the next 12 months.
