We headed to Philadelphia to visit the clinical team at Prosthetic Innovations and met prosthetist Mike Rayer alongside his patient, Scott Jacoby.

We spent time with them to learn how they’re experiencing the functionality and usability of Steeper’s innovative Espire Elbow and how it’s supporting Scott in daily life.

It is with profound sadness that SteeperUSA shares the passing of our colleague, mentor, and friend, Michael M Amrich Jr., CPO, who passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026.

Mike’s impact on the Orthotics and Prosthetics profession, and especially on the lives of the patients he cared for, was immeasurable. With over 45 years of dedicated service advancing prosthetic care, his passion for innovation, education, and patient-centered practice helped shape the field and uplift countless individuals. His legacy of leadership, integrity, and compassion will remain with us always.

We were honored to work alongside Mike and learn from his deep expertise, humility, and unwavering commitment to improving lives through better prosthetic care. His contributions to SteeperUSA and the broader O&P community have left a lasting imprint that will continue to guide us.

Mike’s funeral services are being held under the care of Franklin Funeral Home, with funeral service at 9am followed by Mass and burial on January 21, 2026.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Mike’s family, friends, and all who were fortunate to know him. His warmth, generosity, and lasting impact will be remembered always. 🤍

Today we celebrate an incredible milestone at SteeperUSA as we honor the retirement of Michael Amrich CPO, FAAOP.

Mike began his career working alongside his father, also a prosthetist, at the Liberty Mutual Prosthetic Center in Somerville, MA. Mike is a pioneer of expedited fitting and provided care to patients from all over the USA.

Mike’s dedication, leadership, and commitment to excellence have left a lasting impact on our team, our partners, and the many patient lives touched through his work. His passion and influence will continue to shape our work and mission for years to come.

Mike, thank you for all you’ve given to SteeperUSA and to the O & P profession. We wish you peace, fulfillment, and comfort in this next chapter.
