Our Story

The Center for South Texas Programs (CSTP) is charged with the oversight of remote programs of the UT Health Science Center at San Antonio in the 35 counties of South Texas. In that capacity, the CSTP acts as a liaison between the UTHSCSA and elected officials, health care providers, public health and community agencies in San Antonio, Eagle Pass, Laredo Corpus Christi, Harlingen and their surrounding counties. The CSTP works with communities to determine their strengths, unique needs and connects them with valuable resources and expertise at the UTHSCSA. At the CSTP, we partner with communities to explore creative ways to enhance their organizational capacity, assist with the implementation of federally supported studies, provide evaluation of existing programs and assist in "filling the gaps" in health professional education.
