Grief doesn’t just take the person you love…it also takes the version of you that loved them ❤️🩹.
I spent a long time trying to fight my way back to “the old me”. I thought if I just stayed busy enough or hit enough milestones, I’d eventually go back to feeling like myself again.
But the truth is, a major loss splits your life into a “before “ and an “after”. The person. In the “after” has different boundaries, different fears, and a completely different outlook of the world.
You’re not broken. You’re just learning how to carry a version of you that you never asked to meet.
If you are reading this and feel like a stranger in your own life today, please know that you are not alone in that room.
Let’s hold space for healing of one another in the comments. If you are willing to share, who are you missing and how has this journey changed you?
❤️
