Dr. Maggie Dou, PhD, LPC, NCC
βAlthough the world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it.β This quote by Helen Keller represents my belief that hope and healing is available to all. I enjoy working with parents and their adolescent/teen children to improve their relationships and communication. My clinical experience includes working with adults and children with symptoms o
f anxiety, depression, sleep issues, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). I also have experience working through grief of many kinds (death, divorce, child abuse and neglect). I am especially passionate about working with survivors of child sexual abuse and other traumatic experiences. I have extensive experience working with adopted and foster care children and their families. I am a trained Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) Practitioner and Educator. TBRI is an intervention designed to meet the complex needs of vulnerable children. This approach helps meet the physical, emotional, developmental, environmental, and relationship needs of children. This intervention includes giving parents/caregivers the tools and strategies needed for a successful relationship with their child.
