Cyndee's Quest for a Kidney Hero: Unite for Life, Be the Donor!
I started this page for a selfless human being that's facing a life-threatening situation and needs our help! Please take a few minutes to read her story....
Cyndee is a beautiful soul who is currently facing a very challenging situation in life. She came into this world with only one kidney and has lived a perfectly healthy life until recently. In August of 2023 she developed severe pain in her abdomen, leading her to go see her primary doctor and having a CT of her abdomen ordered. For those of us who know Cyndee, she NEVER goes to the doctor even though she works alongside several of them every day in her career as a Regional Practice Administrator.
Good news, the pain was a result of a swollen intestine that would heal on its own in a couple of days.
Bad news, the CT revealed a large aneurysm that is near rupturing on the main artery that supplies the blood to her ONE kidney....
In a normal situation with a person who has two kidneys, this surgery would be scheduled, the artery would be repaired, and she would be back to living a normal life in no time. Unfortunately, due to Cyndee's rare condition, the life-threatening surgical procedure needed to repair the aneurysm leaves her with only one option, LIVING DONOR. She needs a living donor to replace her kidney, which will most likely suffer failure during this very risky surgery.
With this devastating news, Cyndee set out to find out more about her condition and what other options she had to repair this aneurysm. She has received multiple opinions from vascular surgeons and transplant doctors over the past several months who all gave her the same outcome, LIVING DONOR. This is the ONLY way to move forward with the vascular surgery she desperately needs to repair the aneurysm. .
Cyndee is a huge believer in God and strong in her faith. She is positive that this aneurysm was found by the grace of God, and only he knows why it was found in time to repair it. It is now up to us to find her the kidney donor she needs to continue to live life and fulfill her purpose on earth and give her testimony!
I believe by sharing her story and this page, we can find Cyndee the DONOR CHAMPION she desperately needs! I understand the magnitude of such a request, but I also know the power of compassion within our community.
