Heeling Sole Barefoot Massage By appointment only

Need a massage in San Antonio? The goal of “relaxation” is therefore up to you.
(204)

Deep tissue myofascial "FasciAshi" Barefoot Massage & Structural Integration from the FEET of Jeni Spring, an award winning Licensed Massage Therapist since 2002. Relaxation is not exactly my focus, BUT the good news is that chemically, deep down to the cells of your body, a sense of relaxation happens with every ‘Deeper than Deep’ fascial therapy session that I do, even when it gets down to that “hurts so good” level of pressure! To achieve a sense of mental relaxation and escape, that is a little trickier, and up to you. Just like how outdoor yoga is about BEING IN THE MOMENT and breathing through the distractions to find peace and focus, I encourage you to take notice of your body’s inner sensations during your sessions. I’ll provide the space, and I’ll do the hard work to focus on treating your soft tissue injuries,, so that YOU can enhance your own internal body awareness and heal through a mindful meditation on the internal sensations of this massage. The sessions that I provide are Myofascial Barefoot Massage sessions set on the massage table or on a floor mat that incorporate Stretch Therapy, and soon, also Structural Integration. My goal is to give you a sense of effortlessness in your movements, better awareness of how you feel inside your body, and to rehab your strains and pains into something self-manageable. How is that possible?! Barefoot Massage offers slow moving, broad pressured, myofascial and stretch therapy techniques. My skilled feet can get just as detailed as hands, (Spoiler alert: I may still have to do some specific Structural Integration techniques with my hands ::GASP!:: But the sessions are usually 99% from my feet.) My body weight and gravity allow me to maintain consistent pressure at the depth your body “kneads.”

Your nervous system reacts to this big-footed pressure the same as if it were a weighted blanket. Your muscles won’t need to clench from the pokey pain of elbows and fingers – it can melt under the rounded surfaces of our warm, clean, smooth feet. The active movements that I guide you thru during the stretch therapy sessions will help to recalibrate the GPS of your body’s perception of pain, and the deepen the brain-body connections that neuromuscularly inform the quality of your movement. There is a lot of science in this work. Speed up your recovery time and resolve chronic pain in a session with Jeni Spring, LMT at Heeling Sole Barefoot Massage!

Yeah so, the generalized rando things that you can't describe are the hardest things to work on BUT they can be the most fun over time. It does sometimes mean that I'm not **as** confident on where exactly to start in your session, but that's where your play-by-play instant feedback is what guides the massage to it's most productive moments!!!

Sometimes while I'm wandering through your muscles during a seemingly innocent relaxing moment, you might notice a sensation that reminds you of this random, elusive pain that comes out of nowhere and normally ruins your day. Let's chase that!

The general rule while underfoot is "if you feel something say something!"

You may not know what it is, or how to describe it, but if you let me know that it's happening while my foot is on it, we can add my perspective to the moment and start to solve the puzzle!

Oh hi. 👋🏼

My brain is a little Midnights-at-2am lately (meaning I'm mentally fried, slightly dramatic, mildly unhinged, but still got the ideas.) The fascia facts are still factual… but the creative well is currently in its Reputation rebellion phase.

So welcome to my Heeling Era.🫶🏼

I might be ok but I have writer’s block about pain science, yet somehow I can absolutely still find a way to connect Taylor Swift lyrics to how Barefoot Massage helps with nervous system regulation. SO 1,2,3: Let's go feet!

Because honestly?
You don’t have to be “fine at all” to book a massage.
You can be:
🐍“on some new sh*t” and rebuilding
🎩“feeling 22” but your traps are 87 and tight like a Kelce
🪩or just realizing “it’s me, hi” …I’m the problem, it’s me

Either way — it’s been a long time coming.
If your body has been asking for:
👣 Myofascial Barefoot Massage
🦴 Structural Integration
🪡 ScarWork
🌊 Nervous system down-regulation that doesn’t ("I'm gonna let you finish, but...") intimidate your tissue

You know where to find me.

If you aren't a Swiftie, don't worry. I contain multitudes. Just know that I can AND WILL do this for my fellow Star Wars nerds out there.

Just wait until May the 4th.

What your muscles, fascia, and nervous system actually need to change is novel, gradual, safe input — not force.

Slow, sustained, heavy foot pressure that listens, adapts, and melts…
not aggressive, torturous pressure barging in trying to win.

“No pain, no gain” is bro-dude fake news marketing.
At Heeling Sole, I use nervous system science that fact-checks that saying straight into the dumpster fire of yesteryear.

Pain is a protection signal — not proof that something productive is happening. If we repeatedly trigger pain underfoot, we reinforce guarding.

Guarding keeps you tense. Guarding reduces change.

Real adaptation lives in the sweet spot — challenged by sensation, but not bracing.

My job is to find that edge, help your system feel safe, and expand what your body perceives as possible.
I use Barefoot Massage like a grounded weighted blanket — sustained, heavy pressure that sinks past habitual guarding and speaks directly to your nervous system.

Myofascial Barefoot Massage builds inner awareness so your system can stop overreacting and start responding smarter.

Therapeutic pressure. Not punishment.
We can HEEL that. 👣

Here's something we don't see enough in Texas and I wish we did: foggy days on ocean bays 😍

My sister and I visited Gig Harbor, (which is southwest of Seattle) while I was up in Washington 2 weeks ago, and this was a lookout point just outside of the harbor. We thought we were seeing the Bremerton-Seattle ferry boat, but nope, wrong direction, that was actually the Vashon-Point Defiance ferry.

As if y'all know what I'm talking about. I definitely don't here. But it was pretty.

And calming.

What's your fave Gulf Coast spot in Texas? I'm gonna need a big water fix and a road trip with my dog soon.

Have you ever been told “you’re fine” when your body clearly disagrees?

A medical pro might discharge or graduate you from their care because the physical injury - in movement, in strength, in imaging - all show improvement, but you still feel the painful sensations. This might mean that your nervous system is still sensing something and trying to protect you, even when the injury itself has mended.

At Heeling Sole, Jeni can look again and work with your body’s whole story thru multiple lenses based on her 24 years of training and experience:

🏹 Structural Integration realigns how your body moves in gravity, helping muscles, fascia, and joints cooperate - we find where there is too much effort in your movements or alignment and work to ease that up.

🪡 Scar Work gently frees silent, hidden restrictions that tug on posture or limit movement - even if subconsciously.

🦴 Bonework targets the fascia around bones—especially after fractures or long‑ago injuries—to restore ease where things feel “stuck” and help increase a deeply rooted awareness of the detailed structures in your body.

👣 Jeni's barefoot massage blends myoskeletal alignment techniques with myofascial deep tissue, anchoring it all with slow, grounded pressure that reassures your nervous system that you’re safe now, calming tension, awakening the interconnectivity of your entire presence.

When all these approaches that Jeni has trained and studied in meet up thru her feet, your body can shift from holding on to letting go. The pain might not be in the injury, but in the sensations of what your body is doing to protect you from what happened.

I'm in Washington state unexpectedly - my grandma passed away yesterday peacefully in her sleep. It's a huge relief for her and the family, so I'm not sad, just processing.

So right now I'm here at the water on the Full Moon, looking for rainbows, whales, seals, eagles or whatever shows up in this part of Puget Sound today.

Thanks to all my massage clients who rescheduled so that I could be here, I'll be back soon.
