Respecting your adult child’s path and priorities is one of the most powerful ways of developing connection as you navigate this next stage of parenthood. Worry doesn’t feel like love. Trust does.

Attachment wounds aren’t the end of the story.
They’re invitations to heal, rewire, and reconnect.

Whether you lean anxious, avoidant, or somewhere in between—your attachment style was shaped by what you needed to survive, not what you’re destined to repeat.

Healing begins when you start noticing your patterns with curiosity, not shame. It deepens when you find safety in a relationship—therapeutic or personal—where your nervous system learns:
•“I can be seen and still be safe.”
•“I can ask for what I need and not be too
much.”
•“I don’t have to disappear to stay
connected.”

With the right support, you can shift old attachment patterns and build relationships that are grounded in trust, not fear.

It’s not about becoming perfect—it’s about becoming whole.

The devastating floods in the Texas Hill Country have left a deep wound felt not only by families directly impacted, but also by our entire community. We are all reeling from the collective trauma of sudden loss.

As a therapist, I want to name what many are feeling but may not know how to express:
Grief is not just sadness. It’s confusion. Numbness. Anger. Guilt. Helplessness.
And it’s all normal.

If you or someone you know is grieving:
• You don’t have to “be strong.” You have to be real—whatever that looks like for you.
• Trauma can make your world feel unsafe. Let others help hold the pieces until you’re ready.
• It’s okay if you don’t have words. Grief often speaks through the body—fatigue, tension, stomachaches, insomnia. Pay attention and go gently.

If you’re supporting someone who is grieving, resist the urge to fix it. Simply sit with them. Silence can be more healing than advice.

There’s no “right way” to grieve—only your way.

For those impacted, know this: You are not alone. The weight of this tragedy is heavy, but your pain is valid, and your healing matters. If you need support, please reach out. Therapy is a place where your grief can exist without being rushed or judged.

Sending strength and compassion to everyone affected by the floods.

What if the parts of you you’re most ashamed of… aren’t bad at all?

What if the anger is protecting a wound?
What if the perfectionism is trying to keep you safe?
What if the people-pleasing part is just longing to belong?

When we respond to our inner world with judgment, we silence the very parts that need healing.

But when we turn toward those parts with curiosity and compassion, we create space for understanding.
For healing.
For wholeness.

You don’t have to fight your inner critic.
You don’t have to shut down the anxious voice.
You can simply ask:
“What are you afraid would happen if you didn’t do this job?”

That question changes everything.

Some days, everything feels like too much. Other days, it feels like nothing at all.
If you’ve been feeling stuck in your head, overwhelmed by emotions, or disconnected in your relationships, you’re not alone—and you’re not broken.

Whether it’s anxiety that won’t turn off, a heaviness you can’t explain, or patterns in your relationships that leave you feeling unseen or exhausted—therapy can help you get curious, find clarity, and reconnect with the parts of yourself that know how to move forward.

I currently have a few openings for individuals and couples who want thoughtful, compassionate support navigating:
• Stress, anxiety, or burnout

• Communication and connection issues in relationships

You don’t have to power through on your own. If this speaks to you, feel free to reach out or share.
