Ragweed can be tougher to spot because the flowers themselves are kind of hidden— so most people see its leaves only.

Ragweed is often found along roadsides and in fields!

Tips :

🌿 Follow us for daily pollen counts!
🌿Ragweed counts are often highest in the AM so consider planning outdoor activities in the afternoon
🌿 Hard flooring over carpeting
🌿 Try over-the-counter meds as needed for mild symptoms ( antihistamine, nasal steroid spray )
🌿 An allergist ( 👋 ) can provide allergy shot! When taken monthly, it can provide longterm relief!

I remember these girls’ early early 1st days of school like it was yesterday! Now, Juliana is starting high school and Alli Gray … middle school! I officially am the physician-mom of a 9th and 6th grader!

Let’s talk egg allergy! More specifically, outgrowing it! Yes! 70% of kids outgrow egg allergy by age 16 or 17! Our lovely patient Deja is one of them 🌟

One year ago Deja underwent a food allergy challenge, here under our medical supervision! She started with baked egg! Today we are excited to report that she’s eating ALL egg!

What’s good to know about egg allergy :

🥚 The whites & yokes aren’t equally allergic. Most egg allergens are found in the egg white ~
🥚 Baked egg reintroduction usually starts with muffins, cookies, or cakes. You want the egg cooked thoroughly - 350 degrees for at least 20 minutes

👉🏻 Also! You want to take on any oral food challenge under an allergist or doctor’s supervision 🫶
