Lucky 13th annual 🎀 Paint the Parkway Pink 5K/1mile event had a record turnout of a reported 1300 participants! This event is sponsored by ThriveWell Cancer Foundation and donors, of which San Antonio Eye Specialists has proudly donated since 2019. A cause very near to our hearts promoting awareness for regular mammogram detection and research for cancer.

This is the second year this event takes place at the San Antonio Police Training Academy. Participants of all ages, survivors, family and friends painted a vibrant pathway of pink as we crossed the finish line and we could not have asked for a more beautiful, clear day or weather. ☀️

Pictured with Dr. Nader Iskander is Dr. Jean Holt, ophthalmologist and staunch supporter of Paint the Parkway Pink, nicknamed “Mama Jean.” We are so grateful for your tireless organizing and cheerleading, year after year.

A huge Thank You to all our SAES team members and their families for an early morning turnout, we value each of you sacrificing a Saturday sleep-in! 🫶🏃🏽‍➡️🏃🏻‍♀️‍➡️🎀

September 11, 2001 is a day where time feels as though we were suspended. We all recall where we were and how we watched the images in disbelief. Hard to believe 24 years have elapsed. Where would all those who lost their lives be today? How would life be different?

Take time to remember those who were sacrificed, those who volunteered in the search and rescue, those whose family and friends would forever be changed.

We lost the World Trade twin towers, but with our unity and resilience as a country, we stood strong. The One World Trade Center now stands as a reminder of the beauty of rebirth, rebuilding and community.

Once a year we celebrate this amazing human being, Dr. Iskander. To many, he is simply their eye doctor. To the rest of us, who work along side of him, he is a mentor, a kind example leading his team to greatness, showing us how to care, through his patience, compassion, and wisdom touching the lives of countless people. To his family, he is our world as a loving father, husband, son, uncle and friend.

A very Happy Birthday to a very special man!! Dr. Iskander, you brighten our world and we are blessed to know you!
