Point of view: Adriana's face when someone ask her, how are you doing? A better question when addressing a person who suffers from kidney disease is, "What can I do for you."

Did you know? Peritoneal dialysis only filters 60% of the toxins in your body, and only does it just once a day. But just ONE kidney filters 100% of toxins all day long.

Would it be wrong to say that Adriana wants to find a kidney donor so that I she could have a cold glass of orange juice and a minimum of two Costco pepperoni pizza slices?

Being on dialysis often means you've got some strict dietary restrictions, and if you don't follow them you could get even sicker and risk your health. Adriana misses her guilty pleasures and a transplant would allow her to indulge - at least in moderation.

Dear Diary,

Adriana is constipated again.

WHY?

Well dialysis patients are often "dry" (that's dehydrated for the rest of us) due to liquid and diet restrictions. Let's also not forget to mention the binders they have to take before every meal. All this disrupts the digestive system and ends up not working the way it should.

You are probably thinking, get over it, sh*t happens! Well not for this sassy little camper who is in NEED of a kidney.
