Advice calls are taken throughout the day. When talking to your doctor's assistant, please provide your name, the patient's name and date of birth, and your question or concern. If you are patched through to the voicemail, please leave a detailed message and a correct telephone number (no pager numbers, please). If no one has returned your call within one to two hours, please call back. We want to
be sure your questions are answered. Please also inform us of any drug allergies, current medications, and your child's weight. If your child has a fever, please measure it. For an appointment, please call our office during regular business hours. For non-medical questions, such as billing, insurance or office procedures, please call our Village Drive location Monday-Friday during regular business hours (210) 657-0220. When either office is closed, please call (210) 657-0220 and you will be patched through to our answering service. Telephone calls regarding your child will be triaged by a nurse, who is specifically trained to give you advice. If needed, the nurse will page the doctor on call to further assist you. Telephone traffic is heavy from 8:00-9:00 AM, 11:00-1:00 PM, and from 3:00-5:00 PM. It is helpful if calls during these times are limited to inquiries concerning acutely ill children.
