Your anxiety is lying to you.
Anxiety lie #1:
Disturbing images through intrusive thoughts. Intrusive thoughts are quick images that flash in your mind. It is unwanted and is anything you find disturbing. Intrusive thoughts are often the opposite of ways youād normally act or things youād normally do, this is why it is so alarming!
Anxiety lie #2:
āIām dying.ā
Disclaimer: Health anxiety or hypochondria is a real diagnosis with strong anxious feelings. With that said, your mindās default is to go to the worst-case scenario. The brain is arguably the most important organ in the human body. It controls and coordinates actions and reactions, allows us to think and feel, and enables us to have memories and feelingsāall the things that make us human. But your brainās most important jobs is to keep you safe and wants to control the stressful thinking! Health issues are stressful but worrying is just another way of making you think you are controlling your outcome. If you need further confirmation, talk to your doctor and set up a good health plan.
Anxiety lie #3:
āIām not good enoughā
Our beliefs shape our perception. I believe this is learned and conditioned through traumatic experiences or experiences that has made us feel defeated. But the truth is, we all were born WHOLE and full of LOVE. Next time you are holding a newborn or simply just watching children play, look how in the moment they are, worry free and full of pure joy. So,this thought was taught, not something you were born with. Do, remind yourself that it is unreasonable to do EVERYTHING OR BE SOMEONES EVERYTHING. Give yourself grace, we all, collectively, just got through the toughest year of our lives!
