Hola amigas/familia!

I want to share something that is really important to me, prioritizing our mental health. It can be easy to be caught up in our lives and not put ourselves as a priority. Trust me, this I know!šŸ˜† (pic of my check in today)

Remember, it’s okay to take a break when you need one, its okay to ask for help when your struggling. AND its okay to prioritize yourself and your mental health above all else!

So, today I encourage you take a moment to check in with yourself and see how you’re doing. And if you need some extra support or guidance, know that there are resources and people who are here to help (like me šŸ™‹šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø)

An office that is not just a place of work, but a place of healing.

A place that leaves a whisper after hard ((good)) work was done ā€œHuman souls are truly remarkableā€

A place were wounds of the heart and soul were mended, relationships restored, and where hope and love were found.

A place were one is HEARD and SEEN

A place that has restored the light that was once lost along the way.

And here I am in awe, that I couldn’t do it without this sacred space. 😌

With regards to how we explore life, perspective is everything!! Here’s why.

Perspectives are like magnets, waiting to attract evidence to support the belief! In Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, we call these perspectives, core beliefs. Our core beliefs can repel anything that does not fit with our belief. So, if you have a negative core belief (I’m not enough) , this can lead to negative automatic thoughts(I can’t do anything right, my life is a failure), present negative mood/feelings ( Im anxious and depressed) as a result can lead to unhelpful behaviors (Lack of motivation or substance use to numb the pain)
It's helpful to learn to recognize your core belief so you can challenge unhelpful thinking that leads to problematic moods/feelings and choose healthier behaviors to cope with life.


Cognitive Behavioral Therapy can help you identify what perspective or (core belief) you possess and understand why they can appear as 🧲

Your anxiety is lying to you.

Anxiety lie #1:
Disturbing images through intrusive thoughts. Intrusive thoughts are quick images that flash in your mind. It is unwanted and is anything you find disturbing. Intrusive thoughts are often the opposite of ways you’d normally act or things you’d normally do, this is why it is so alarming!


Anxiety lie #2:
ā€œI’m dying.ā€
Disclaimer: Health anxiety or hypochondria is a real diagnosis with strong anxious feelings. With that said, your mind’s default is to go to the worst-case scenario. The brain is arguably the most important organ in the human body. It controls and coordinates actions and reactions, allows us to think and feel, and enables us to have memories and feelings—all the things that make us human. But your brain’s most important jobs is to keep you safe and wants to control the stressful thinking! Health issues are stressful but worrying is just another way of making you think you are controlling your outcome. If you need further confirmation, talk to your doctor and set up a good health plan.

Anxiety lie #3:
ā€œI’m not good enoughā€
Our beliefs shape our perception. I believe this is learned and conditioned through traumatic experiences or experiences that has made us feel defeated. But the truth is, we all were born WHOLE and full of LOVE. Next time you are holding a newborn or simply just watching children play, look how in the moment they are, worry free and full of pure joy. So,this thought was taught, not something you were born with. Do, remind yourself that it is unreasonable to do EVERYTHING OR BE SOMEONES EVERYTHING. Give yourself grace, we all, collectively, just got through the toughest year of our lives!

Ok my parents, let’s talk about this video. Why is listening so hard? Well the most common reason is, anxiety. Anxiety appears to manifest as a desire for power by seeking to dictate the results of events and choices our children make. By the act of ā€œdoingā€ we think it masks the feeling of ā€œanxiousā€ feelings, and worrying is an illusion of doing, so, we worry then feel like we’re ā€œdoingā€ something (or controlling bad events from happening) And stop listening to our children’s wants or needs. Worrying is a mask for a fear of being present. Becoming present, is where anxiety can’t stand to be in for long. By practicing grounding techniques and asking yourself the question ā€œwhat is my intention for my child or am I speaking from the space of fear?ā€ You ground yourself first, by beginning the change and start the shift in you. Therefore we can teach our children to grow in their faith in life as fundamentally wise by being present and confident in the choices they make now and the future. šŸ™šŸ˜Š

Today is extremely difficult for the majority of us (if not all of us) be kind to yourself as we ride this anxious wave together. Here are a few tips(no particular order):

1.Call your support
2. Schedule your appointment with your therapist
3. Today is not an average day so it’s ok if you don’t check off anything on your ā€œto doā€list
4. Focus on your mental health and practice self care
