Do You Hear The Damacus Cry San Antonio?

I'm wondering if anyone sees these posts. My heart is hurting.

I was at the streets last night checking on the TwilightTreasures. It's been a minute since I last went.

This one young girl, I'll call her Maria, was out. I hadn't seen her in years. I've known her since she was 22. Yes, she was out there since then. She is now 31.

When I first met her, she was young, no marks on her body, white teeth, short, petite, long healthy vibrant hair. Yet, addicted and walking the streets.

Fast forward 8 years later.

I'm in my 4runner coming home from work. My boss called me, asking me to check something out on the way home. After I checked on what she wanted me to check on, I felt the urge to go down Roosevelt.
My husband and I had been checking on Roosevelt and S. Presa, but the girls were not out. I figured there was a round up and they were all locked up.

But no...there she was as I was driving by. Short, petite, hair in a pony tail. She was in nothing but sweats and a grey bra that barely fit. Her entire upper teeth were gone.

She saw me as I drove by. I saw her. I waved and she waved back. She was walking up one side of the road a couple of blocks just to cross the street to walk down the opposite side. All while her old man was watching from the front porch of the drug house I pulled next to.

I had Genevieve's Purses with me, named after one the Treaaures brutally murdered in March 2025 by the Southside Serial Killer. She wanted help. But by the time I could get to her. She was already found. That's another story.

She immediately came over to me and gave me the biggest hug. She had tears in her eyes. Where have you been? I haven't seen you in a long time.

We talked. She just had a baby 3 months ago. Her mom had the baby. However, it's her addiction she couldn't get away from. Her addiction has her on the streets doing what she's doing.

"When was the last time you ate?"

I told her to get in my 4runner.
I was able to minister to her.

"You know so and so?" I asked
She shook her head yes.

You know she took off with a guy to Houston. They found her body on the streets. You know she was suppose to go into the women's home up north, but ended up going back to her brother. He stuck a needle in her arm as soon as she went back. A few months later I found out what happened. This was a couple years ago.

She she her head in disbelief.

You know, sometimes God gives us warnings before something worse happens. Everytime I see you I see you worse and worse. You have your entire life ahead of you. However, I really believe something bad is going to happen if you don't change your life. Your baby deserves his momma. And you deserve to be a momma. You know what I'm talking about, don't you?

She looked at me with tears in her eyes. I want to change. I want to go to church but I have no clothes.

She looked down in shame.

You can tell when someone is doing things out of a hidden agenda or from the sincerity of their heart.

I looked at her with compassion. When was the last time you got your nails done?

I remembered always made sure her nails and makeup were done. Seeing her now was heartbreaking.

Its been a long time. I'm not a girly girl anymore. I wish i could find myself again.

Come on, let's go get some clothes, but you gotta let me pick you up for church.

She shook her head yes. We picked out the clothes she needed.

Then I took her to get something to eat.
She looked at me, "I'm overwhelmed by this. No one has ever done this for me before. I'm not going to tell you. I'm going to show you. Please call me tomorrow for church. I'll be ready for you to pick me up."

I took her back to where she was staying. She gave me one last hug as I prayed for her. She jumped out.

I watched her go inside.

I'm in tears. These are God's daughters. His girls.

I'm picking up Maria tonight for church.

Victory Outreach has Code Red coming up June 6. We are in need of hygiene, socks, etc.

I'm asking from the bottom of my heart one more time: "Will you hear the Damacus Cry and help God's most forgotten daughters San Antonio?"

How can I partner?

She was sitting on the pavement outside a corner store.

Her long amber hair was tangled and oily. Her face was marked with scars. Next to her, a small container of beauty products—something she was trying to sell just to make it through the day.

I rolled down my window. “Hi,” I said gently.
She looked up—silent, searching.

I asked, “When was the last time you ate?”
“I don’t know,” she whispered.

She asked for a Big Red—her body craving sugar as it detoxed. I grabbed her some food, and before I handed it to her, I said,
“Jesus has a plan for your life. If you’re tired, we have women’s homes throughout Victory Outreach. You don’t have to stay here.”

“I’m 27,” she said softly. “I’ve been out here for 3 weeks. My mom is really sick, and I don’t know how to take care of her.
I was in rehab and really liked it… but it got to be too much. But I haven’t gotten high in a few days.”

I asked if I could pray with her. She nodded.
As I prayed, a single tear ran down her cheek.

“That’s the Holy Spirit,” I told her. “God loves you. You still have a choice. A future. A name. You can walk away from this life—Jesus will walk with you.”

She paused, then quietly said, “I’m not ready… but I’ll think about it.”

Before I left, I invited her to Code Red.
She asked, “What’s that?”

Victory Outreach Code Red is a two-day outreach where we go into the darkest places and remind women of their God-given worth.
We offer hair and makeup, a warm meal, and most of all—hope, love, and the transforming power of Jesus.

I told her, “You’d be my special guest. You’ll be treated like royalty—because that’s how God sees you.”

She smiled. “Yes… I want to go.”

This is why we do Code Red.
Because women like her are not throwaways.
Because Jesus still meets people on the streets.
Because knowing Jesus can change everything.

But we can’t do it alone.
We’re asking you—our community—to partner with us.

Partner with Victory Outreach ThirdWave San Antonio to help the forgotten women of our city.
Be the hands and feet of Jesus

Call or text 210-577-9711 to partner with us. Let’s bring daughters home.
