Strengthening Readiness: 359th Medical Wing Hosts CMRP Skills Rodeo at Keesler

The 359th Medical Wing recently hosted a Comprehensive Medical Readiness Proficiency (CMRP) Skills Rodeo at Keesler Air Force Base.
The biannual event ensures medical personnel are always mission ready. This hands-on training, held on January 23, 2026, brought together instructors and participants from multiple squadrons to sharpen critical skills in real-world scenarios, from damage control resuscitation to combat stress management.

Events like the CMRP Skills Rodeo are more than just training – they are a cornerstone of operational readiness. By enhancing deployment currency and proficiency, the training directly contributes to the overall readiness and excellence of Defense Health Network Central. With aerospace medical technician currency increasing from 72% to 90% and registered nurse currency improving from 71% to 90%, this effort demonstrates the tangible impact of focused training on our ability to respond effectively in high-pressure environments.

We are proud to highlight the incredible work of Keesler Medical Center and the 359th Medical Wing in advancing readiness and ensuring our medical teams are prepared to support the mission, wherever and whenever they are called.

Hearing is mission critical to service members. You can take these steps to prevent :
🔇 Wear hearing protection: Use earplugs or noise-canceling earmuffs during training or in loud environments.
📏 Maintain safe distances: Stay as far as possible from loud noise sources like machinery or explosions.
⏳ Limit exposure time: Take breaks from noisy environments to give your ears a rest.
🩺 Get regular checkups: Schedule hearing tests to catch early signs of damage.

Measles is an extremely contagious and potentially severe viral illness. It spreads through the air when someone coughs or sneezes, and up to 9 out of 10 people nearby can become infected if they’re not protected. 💨
often starts with high fever, cough, runny nose, and red, watery eyes. Small white spots inside the mouth may appear next, followed by a red rash that begins on the face and spreads down the body.

Talk to your healthcare provider about the MMR vaccine. If you think you or a family member may have measles, contact your healthcare provider right away for guidance and timely care.
