The fall season, specifically September, can be one of the most dangerous times of the year for people with asthma.

The third week in September is known as when asthma-related ER and hospital visits spike. Physician visits for asthma also tend to increase in September and early October.

Although the influenza vaccine is recommended for most children and adults, for our patients with asthma, chronic sinusitis, and immunodeficiency, receiving the yearly flu shot is crucial.

In addition to the flu vaccine, we strongly recommend that eligible patients receive the latest COVID booster. Keeping up to date with COVID-19 vaccinations is key to safeguarding your health and our community. And for patient populations indicated, we also recommend the RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) vaccine. This vaccine offers essential protection, particularly for those vulnerable to severe respiratory infections.
