He the received the degree Doctor of Medicine as a Distinguished Senior Scholar in Surgery. Dr. Lawton was fully trained in General Surgery at Yale University where he served as Chief Resident and Clinical Instructor in General Surgery at the Yale University School of Medicine. He spent an additional 2 years in the Wound Healing Laboratory at Yale University School of Medicine where he did bench r

esearch, published, and gave lectures across the globe about the microbiology of Wound Healing, receiving countless Grants from the American College of Surgeons, the Association of VA Surgeons, the National Institutes of Health, and International Scientific Organizations. During this time in the laboratory he published scientific articles, books, abstracts and gave national and international lectures that total more than 60 contributions to the scientific community. He received the highly coveted American College of Surgeons Scholarship for the Study of Wound Healing, and the Ohse Foundation Research Fellowship. He also received Scientific Awards from the Association of Veterans Administration Surgeons, and the Connecticut Society of American Board Surgeons and the Corso Award for Outstanding Research. Dr. Lawton was then fully trained in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Yale University School of Medicine, and spent an additional fellowship year studying and performing only cosmetic surgery. He was Chief Resident and Clinical Instructor of Plastic Surgery at the Yale University School of Medicine. Dr. Lawton is a fully Board Certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and has a hyperspecialized practice in Cosmetic Plastic Surgery of the breast and body offering World Class Care in these areas since 2000. Having concentrated on these areas his experience and skills are honed to the highest levels and not diluted by the practice of the numerous other specialities in Plastic Surgery. He owns his own fully certified AAAASF Outpatient Surgery Center and has a loyal staff the majority of whom have been with him since the day he started practice. His professional staff consists of 2 Nurse Practitioners, 6 Registered Nurses, 3 Surgical Technologists, 1 Medical Assistant, and 5 Administrators.

Our Story

Dr. Gary Lawton grew up in Massachusetts and graduated from Lexington High School in 1982. He then attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and received the degree Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering with highest honors (summa cm laude) in 1986. He attended medical school at the University of Massachusetts at Worcester. He received the degree Doctor of Medicine in 1990, and distinguished himself as a Senior Scholar in Surgery. Dr. Lawton began his surgical training at Yale University in 1990. During his General Surgery training, he spent 2 years in the laboratory of the Gastrointestinal Pathobiology Research Group. He received the highly coveted American College of Surgeons Scholarship for the Study of Wound Healing, and the Ohse Foundation Research Fellowship. He also received Scientific Awards from the Association of Veterans Administration Surgeons, and the Connecticut Society of American Board Surgeons. Dr. Lawton received his training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Yale University School of Medicine, where he earned the Corso Award for Outstanding Research in both 1999 and 2000. Dr. Lawton has limited his practice to Cosmetic Plastic Surgery, with a particular focus on breast augmentation, breast reduction, breast lift, liposuction, body contouring, and abdominoplasty (tummy tuck).
