Meet Dental Divas™️ member spotlight, Jodie Hostetter, BSDH, RDH!!!
Passionate about public health and dental hygiene, she is devoted to improving the oral health of our smallest San Antonians and helping to create a positive image for public health dentistry. A true servant heart, she commits to giving back to the community.
Jodie Hostetter, BSDH, RDH, is an experienced dental hygienist with a diverse background in clinical practice, education, and leadership within the dental community. A 2010 graduate of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Jodie began her career with the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District’s Oral Health Section and currently serves as the Miles of Smiles School-Based Sealant Program Coordinator. She oversees a vital program that partners with eight school districts in Bexar County to provide essential preventive dental care and oral health education to elementary school aged children.
Jodie expanded beyond the traditional clinical role by providing dental hygiene services and collaborating closely with the medical team at Kerrville State Hospital to deliver individualized patient centered care through the Texas Department of State Health Services. In addition to her clinical work, Jodie has served as a Young Clinical Representative (YCR), where she played a key role in promoting Young dental products at industry conferences and hosting informative lunch-and-learn sessions at dental offices.
An active member of the American Dental Hygienists' Association since 2010, Jodie has showcased a strong commitment to leadership within both local and state organizations. She has held numerous roles within the San Antonio Dental Hygienists' Association, including President in 2014. At the state level, she contributed to the Texas Dental Hygienists' Association as a committee member for annual conference and mentorship programs, served as Trustee, 2nd Vice President, and made history as TDHA’s first Communications Director, demonstrating her commitment to advancing the dental hygiene profession. Through her active involvement with the American Dental Hygienists Association, Jodie has not only experienced significant personal and professional growth but has also forged lifelong friendships that continue to enrich her life and career.
Outside of her professional life, Jodie has traveled with Starfish Ministry of Texas to support the mission of serving other communities in need by providing dental hygiene care. Jodie enjoys spending weekends at coffee shops and riding her bike with her dogs, Jagger and Coco. They often ride to the missions, making a stop at their favorite coffee truck in King William before heading home.
