Alopecia doesn’t define my worth—but sharing my journey can empower hers. 💖 VERY TRUE STORY
Recently, I had one of the most meaningful conversations—with my 7-year-old niece.
She asked why my hair sometimes looks different. And so, with a deep breath and a full heart, I told her the truth: "I have something called alopecia. My hair doesn’t grow the way it used to.” I told her it doesn’t hurt, and I didn’t do anything wrong. That lots of people—kids, adults, even real-life superheroes—live with hair loss. And I told her something really important: Hair doesn’t decide who I am.
Then I showed her my CNC hair system—something made just for me. Not to hide who I am, but to help me feel strong, confident, and like myself again.
I told her it’s kind of like a superhero cape—for my head.
She looked up and asked, "But… aren’t you hiding it?” And I said, "No, sweetheart. I’m not hiding anything. I’m taking care of myself. Just like someone wears glasses to see better or a unifom or outfit to feel brave. This helps me feel happy when I look in the mirror—and that matters, too.”
Talking about hair loss isn’t always easy—especially with the people we love.
But these conversations plant seeds: of kindness, curiosity, and self-love. 🌿
If you’ve ever struggled to explain your own journey with hair loss, I hope this gives you a little language—and a lot of love—to start.
Because at Flora, we believe in more than beautiful hair. We believe in telling the truth with love. In celebrating what makes us different. And in showing the next generation what real confidence looks like.
