October 15 is National Latinx AIDS Awareness Day. This day highlights the impact of HIV in Hispanic and Latinx communities and promotes testing, treatment, and ending stigma. SAAF supports people living with HIV to start and stay on treatment to stay healthy and undetectable. We thank the Latino Commission on AIDS for leading this effort since 2003 through advocacy, education, and prevention. Learn more at nlaad.org. Stay informed. Get tested. Stop stigma.

27 years ago tonight, this lovely 21 year old, Matthew Shepard, was brutally beaten and left for dead because he was gay.

1998 may seem a long time ago, but for some of us, it was just yesterday. Our fight now is to assure this isn't also tomorrow. At SAAF, we stand with, for, and in front of our LGBTQ+ community, ready to fight for our rights, our dignity, and our humanity. SAAF will continue to be a beacon of hope and a safe place for all.

As we remember Matthew, we unite together in love rather than hate.
