Melody is an experienced registered yoga teacher (e-RYT500), a Yoga Alliance Certified Instructor, an AFAA Certified Group Fitness Instructor and a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider with over a thousand teaching hours of experience. She practiced yoga for 15 years before completing an intensive yoga teacher training program in Sedona, AZ which included asana, alignment, anatomy, pranayama, mantra, meditation, chakra, and Ayurveda training. Since completing her teacher training, she has continued to study with some of the most highly-regarded yoga instructors in the industry, such as Kathryn Budig, David Swenson, Sean Corn, Shiva Rae, Taylor Harkness, Gary Kraftsow, Sadie Nardini, Bo Forbes, Rama Jyoti Vernon and Tiffany Cruikshank. She is currently teaching virtual group classes and privates from her home in San Antonio, Texas and the from the Vidamor Holistic Clinic in Boerne, Texas. This is the motto coined by author Michael Pollan in his 2008 book, “In Defense of Food: An Eater's Manifesto”.

Eat real foods which are generally found in the perimeter of the grocery store rather than the center of the store. Avoid highly processed, highly palatable foods. They are addictive and riddled with harmful ingredients that can lead to or exacerbate chronic disease. Avoid over eating. Finally, eat mostly plants. The advice is simple, direct and easy to remember thus effective. March is National Nutrition Month a perfect time to review our dietary choices. We are encouraged to make informed food choices and develop sound eating and physical activity habits

Your energy intermingles and directs the energy of the universe. We are constantly contributing to how the story unfolds. Not only the story of our personal lives, but also the story of the universe or the collective whole. This is why yoga, meditation, philosophy reminds us to act mindfully, to recognize the immensity of our role and act accordingly. Act in ways that can create a better future for ourselves and for everyone around us.

I don’t pretend to know all the answers, but I feel that kindness and consideration must be at the crux of our actions, even the smallest of them. It is the microcosm that creates the macro. Perhaps, we cannot make big change but we can all make small changes to better our collective future. May you continue to live in such a way that lead us to a better more harmonious existence. 💖

Yoga can change your life when practiced mindfully and consistently. It improves one’s ability to focus on the here and now which translates into more presence in our daily living. It’s a time to promote yoga and give it a try. After all the years of practicing yoga and teaching it, I will share that yoga isn’t really about the postures and certainly not about how flexible you are.

Flexibility is a side effect. The real gift of yoga is the quieting of the mind (the stillness) that allows personal reflection and self-observation.

From the insight, you begin to make better decisions; decisions more aligned with how you really feel. Decisions more aligned with your core values and beliefs.

In addition, she teaches privates working one-on-one with individuals who wish to gain a much deeper understanding of yoga. She practices Transcendental Meditation (TM) and is a member of the worldwide TM organization founded by Maharashi Mahesh Yogi. Yoga is a lifestyle that enables us to gently shed our limitations and embrace our authenticity.
