Dr. Selina Gutierrez is a practice owner, a leader in organized dentistry, and a powerhouse advocate for young dentists! A past president of the Greater San Antonio Hispanic Dental Association, she has been named one of AGD’s “10 Dentists to Watch,” is an AGD Fellow, and currently serves as a Director (and incoming Secretary/Treasurer) for the San Antonio District Dental Society.

They’re working with the SMA-PME Foundation (501c3) to fund clinical trials for a targeted gene therapy to treat Farber Disease and its sister disease SMA-PME. All donations are tax-deductible, and every contribution goes directly toward life-changing research.

Speaker Spotlight: Dr. Sarah Tovar

Dental Students and Residents: Thinking about owning your own dental practice? Don’t miss Dr. Sarah Tovar’s session at the 2025 SADDS “Drill Down on Your Future” Career Fair!

A graduate of Texas A&M/Baylor College of Dentistry, Dr. Tovar completed an AEGD residency at UT Health San Antonio before opening her own start-up practice in 2021 after seven years as an associate. She’s been recognized as Texas New Dentist of the Year (AGD), Rising Star of the Lone Star (TDA), and Outstanding Young Alumnus of the Year (Texas A&M/Baylor COD).
