Take me to book store and I am a happy camper! There are some wonderful studies that show how reading can be so beneficial for your health and reducing stress. I have found that reading is like a muscle. Each year, I find that I'm able to read more and finish more books. This wasn't the case before. Seeing the signs of Spring always gets me excited for renewing my body's energy in many ways. Not just in nutrition (eating more fresh/raw produce lately) but also in my habits, and taking an assessment on what's serving and what isn't. It's normal for us to change and evolve, because that's what the seasons do too. Taking a look at my energy, my moods, my overall sense of happiness, and what I'm grateful for. When your routines feel good to you and your body, that's when it can make all the difference on how you live your day to day. ​​​​​​​​​Your routines you have can make you feel more at peace or they can make you feel unmotivated, or overwhelmed. Sometimes we may feel we're just winging it, without a plan in place. Maybe you want to do it all, which can make you feel overwhelmed because it's a long list of wishful habits you want to do without a clear focus. ​​​​​​​​​We are influenced so much by others to be a certain way and to do certain things, because it seems that's what β€œeveryone” is doing. It's time to cut through the noise. I can help you get really clear on what will work for you and it doesn't even have to follow a trend. It's a fun and creative process, that might have you think outside the box. Who wants to have a cookie-cutter routine or be like everyone else? It doesn't have to be like that at all. For those who needed to hear this today, you are perfect just the way you are. So many people, media, and influencers are trying to tell you that you need to be on track with your goals as February starts to creep up. The truth: positive shifts take time, and goals don't need to have a fixed time stamp. Not if you are in it for the long haul. You can start anytime. Give yourself the space. Have a plan. Change the date. Breathe. Take your time. Try again. Go back to the drawing board. Journal it out. Move it out. Put it aside for a while and circle back later with a new perspective. We are all doing the best we can. For me, the journey towards better hormone balance has been my greatest teacher.​​​​​​​​​What I know for sure, is that our healthy habits are our anchors to helping us feel better and live better. Getting started on our habits and making them as strong as possible (such as better restorative sleep, nutrition, stress management, incorporating movement, and balancing all the other parts of the wellness wheel) will always work for you and not against you. Even when working with a health practitioner, our lifestyle habits are like the roots of the tree. We have to nourish them because our bodies don’t function well without them! Almost every time, as the pressure adds up, the biggest realization is when I discover that the only people putting the pressure to do it all today, is me, myself, and I. It's time to take some of the pressure off. The chaos "out there" will always be there. We can return back to ourselves anytime, to get balanced and centered. I like to ask myself, Where is the pressure coming from?" "What would I do if I didn't have this pressuring me to today? Just a girl in a museum, looking at beauty. Visiting museums and seeing the latest exhibit, is one of my favorite things to do. It's my artist date, which was coined by author Julia Cameron, who wrote the amazing book, The Artist's Way. Artist dates are usually solo expeditions to explore what interests you. They spark imagination, play, and creativity. When I go to a museum, I know, that by seeing and experiencing the art, it will eventually trickle down to what I write, speak, and do.
