Helping patients understand bone health by taking time to explain specific bone diseases and risks. The Fracture Prevention Clinic also educates patients in how to prevent bone problems before a fracture or other bone issues occur. Although the FPC accepts all patients concerned about bone health, we specialize in osteoporosis and osteopenia. Certain risks for these diseases include:
previous fractures
older individuals
White or Asian descent
height loss
post-menopausal women
Family history of fractures or osteoporosis
low body weight

In January 2022 in order to improve our comprehensive bone health we will start offering hormone replacement therapy to those who can benefit from it. I have referred patients out for hormones for years. I'm happy that we will be adding this therapy for our patients.

Calling all walkers/runners! Join the "Skeleton Crew" for a fun 1mile, 5K or 10K supporting the Bulverde Senior Center. We will be joining them again participating in their 22nd Annual Run for the Hills. The date is May 1st and the cost is $10 for the mile, $25 for the 5K and $30 for the 10K. Call us for more information!
