Physical Therapy faculty and students recently presented research posters at the American Physical Therapy Association Combined Sections Meeting (CSM) in Anaheim, California, with one faculty member serving as a speaker for multiple sessions.

“Our faculty not only shared innovative research and clinical expertise on a national stage, but also built strategic collaborations that will enhance our scholarship, expand professional partnerships and ultimately benefit the communities we serve,” said Department Chair and Associate Professor Bradley Tragord, PT, DPT, DSc.

A few weeks late to post, but our UT Health PT faculty, students and alumni were well represented at the recent Texas Physical Therapy Association Annual Conference in Houston.

DPT III student Jasmine Bryson was awarded the Rex Nutt Outstanding PT Student for 2025, receiving the award from TPTA President and UT Health faculty Dr. Mike Geelhoed.

This past Tuesday, DPT students Alexandria Garcia and Sophia Shin traveled to Austin to help Dr. Geelhoed present to the UT Pre-PT Society to give advice on applying to our program. The application deadline is October 1 for our next cohort!

-Session 1: 8am-Noon (Zoom)
-Session 2: 1pm-5pm (in-person)
Saturday November 8
-Session 3: 8am-Noon (in-person)
-Session 4: 1pm-5pm (in-person)
Friday November 14
-Session 5: 8am-Noon (in-person)

Interviewers must arrive 45 minutes before their scheduled session for orientation. Free UT Health swag to all who help out!

Recent analysis of NPTE (national board exam) data for US PT programs reveals that the UT Health San Antonio DPT program ranked in the top 18% in the country with a 94% first time pass rate in 2022 and 2023. Our first time pass rate the last 2 years has been even higher--96% in 2024 and 98% in 2025! Congrats to our fantastic graduates and the faculty team that helps prepare them for success!
