Moebius syndrome is a rare neurological disorder that results in facial paralysis, causing challenges in speaking, eating, and breathing. This congenital condition can impact anyone, regardless of their background. The theme for this year's awareness event is "The Faces Moving Us Forward," a celebration of everyday leaders living with Moebius Syndrome.

2026 is a particularly special year for Aveanna patient Kyle because he will be attending school for the first time!

Before coming to Aveanna, Kyle was unable to attend school without a nurse due to having a trach and vent. With his dedicated Aveanna care team by his side every step of the way, Kyle can attend school, make new friends, and grow. His family can rest assured that he is safe and cared for while he experiences new and exciting things in the classroom and beyond.

January is National Birth Defects Prevention Month, a time dedicated to increasing awareness about birth defects and highlighting ways to improve the lives of those living with these conditions.

The CDC reports that each year, approximately 1 in 33 babies in the U.S. is born with a birth defect. Common examples include cleft lips, spina bifida, and congenital heart defects. Although not all birth defects can be prevented, you can boost your chances of having a healthy baby by maintaining your health before and during pregnancy.

New year, new accomplishments! We are so excited to celebrate Aveanna patient Wyatt as he graduates from services.

Wyatt has been part of our Aveanna family since 2023. His fun-loving personality has brought smiles and laughter to his care team since day one. We cannot wait to see the amazing things he'll continue to do now that he is fully integrated at school and eating orally for every meal!
