SBCCC recently hosted a team-building activity called Lucky Letters, bringing staff together in a fun and meaningful way.

Team members wrote anonymous notes of encouragement to one another, then worked to guess both the recipient and the sender. It was a great opportunity to share positivity, strengthen connections, and learn more about each other!

March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness about the importance of prevention and early detection. Colorectal cancer is one of the most preventable cancers when found early through screening.

Ways to reduce your risk:

• Get screened regularly. Screening is recommended starting at age 45, or earlier if you have risk factors or a family history.
• Know your family history. Talk with your healthcare provider about your risk.
• Eat a balanced diet. Focus on fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and limit processed meats.
• Stay active. Regular physical activity can help lower your risk.
• Avoid to***co and limit alcohol. Both are linked to increased cancer risk.
• Pay attention to symptoms. Changes in bowel habits, blood in stool, or unexplained weight loss should be discussed with a healthcare provider.

Early detection saves lives. Talk to your healthcare provider about the screening plan that’s right for you.
