People don’t always ask how you are because they want to know.

Sometimes they’re hoping you’ll say,
“I’m okay.”

And if you can’t say that today,
you don’t owe them a different answer.

Silence is an answer too.

No one talks about how lonely grief really is. Not the kind of lonely that comes from being alone, but the kind that follows you even when you’re surrounded by people. The kind where everyone else’s world keeps moving while yours stands still. You learn to smile so others don’t feel uncomfortable. You nod and say “I’m okay” even when your heart is barely holding together.

The truth is, most people can’t see the weight you carry. They don’t see how your chest tightens when you hear their name, or how your eyes scan every room for a sign that they’re somehow still here. They don’t know that some nights you fall asleep crying into your pillow because there’s nowhere else to put the pain.

You carry a love that still has no place to go. And even when the world forgets, you never do. You remember in the quiet, in the stillness, in the way you hold their memory like a sacred part of your soul.

You are not weak for hurting. You are not broken for remembering. You are someone who has loved deeply and lost greatly, and that kind of strength is something no one can see from the outside.

What’s something you wish people understood about the loneliness that comes with grief?

Our children will forever be missed no matter the year or how long it has been since they passed away. Let’s all remember the children gone too soon by placing a picture of your precious child here.

The road feels open, steady, and unhurried.
Memory walks alongside without slowing the pace.
Moving forward feels natural, calm, and quietly supported.
