Grief brain is real.
The fog settles in and suddenly the simplest things feel impossible.

You forget where you put your keys.
You lose track of what day it is.
The word you’ve said a thousand times won’t come when you need it.

It’s like your mind is moving through quicksand—
slow, heavy, hard to pull free.

It’s not that you don’t care.
It’s not that you’re lazy.
It’s your whole system trying to survive something it was never built to handle.

Grief doesn’t just break your heart.
It rewires your brain.
It clouds your memory.
It steals your focus.

If you’re in the fog, you’re not alone.
It won’t always be this thick.
But for now, give yourself grace.
Your brain is healing too.

Wednesday Spot
Do not talk about your grief
When listening to another talking about their grief
Just Listen

People talk about “acceptance”…

like it’s something a mother
is supposed to arrive at
after losing her son.

Like it’s a destination.
A finish line.
A place where the pain softens
and everything somehow makes sense.

But how do you accept
a life where your child
is no longer in it?

How do you make peace
with an absence
that changes everything?

There are some losses
that don’t fit into neat words
or stages or timelines.

Some losses don’t settle.
They don’t resolve.

They just become
something you carry—
every single day,
in ways no one else can see.

So no…
it’s not about acceptance.

It’s about learning
how to live in a reality
you never agreed to.
