Big News 🗞️ MELP has expanded! 🥳
We now have two locations! New Location is @ 325 Corey Way # 112 South San Francisco near the airport 🛫
Distribution Day is Saturday from 9- 11 am
Donation Day is Thursday from 2-4 pm
We are 💯 Volunteer nonprofit- Thank you for all your support we could not do it without you 🤩👏🤩

We are open Saturdays 9:30 - 11:30 am at 1063 East San Carlos Ave in San Carlos to pick up items-
Then on Wednesdays to donate items from 2-4pm

The equipment drive was very successful that Norm organized in collaboration with “Aiden” from Scout Troop 156 in Burlingame for his Eagle Project.

On Saturday 70 new items were cleaned and tagged, and we received about 60 other items (mostly walkers and crutches) that will be given to other organizations (ReCares and Nova Ukraine).

In addition there were dozens of unopened bundles of absorbent underwear and miscellaneous other untagged supplies.

The 70 new tagged items were the following:
21 Rollators
6 transport chairs
6 wheelchairs
9 shower chairs or small benches
5 tub transfer benches
8 canes and grabbers
3 bedside/overbed tables
12 misc. other
An excellent day! Many thanks to Norm and the others who supported the effort. (Dianne at the Burlingame site, At delivered pizza, Jonathan and Eileen did the tagging, Doug for the early staging, the Leeper family of 9 with trailer loading of 60 walkers and 50 pairs of crutches, Shelene advising on needs at 1063, and I’m sure I forgot someone. Great group effort!

It’s wonderful when non-profits collide! One of our MELP volunteers was able to source and secure a much needed rolling safety ladder for our warehouse from .exchange ! Their guy Dave loaded it up in our trailer and our guy Norm installed it on site. A great way to finish our year!
.exchange has a great, local non-profit providing mechanical skills for fixing bicycles as well as donating bicycles to a wide variety of people in need. It’s a remarkable organization, in operation since 1993 with over 10,000 bicycles donated and or repaired. Check them out!

We are helping a Scout obtain his Eagle rank by helping with an equipment drive!
Please bring any new or used medical equipment to our drop off facility in Belmont on January 20, from 9am - 4pm.

This , please consider donating to our “little” volunteer run organization. Our sole mission is to provide recycled general medical equipment (walkers, wheelchairs, crutches, etc) AND specialized pediatric equipment to people who need it, FREE of charge. This helps our community with ever rising medical expenses and keeps this equipment out of our landfill. Generosity is never too small and if you’re not able to donate funds, please consider donating your time as a volunteer, a very rewarding 2 hrs spent!
And please spread the word about MELP/AbleCloset so that we can get much needed equipment to those who need it.
