What a finish at the 2025 World Junior Surfing Championship! Team USA brings home Team Silver on the strength of Bailey Turner’s Girls U16 Gold and performances from a squad packed with rookies and returning medalists 🌊

Bailey, the pride of Huntington Beach, powered through a marathon nine days of competition against the world’s best under-18 surfers and stood on top of the podium in Girls U16 🥇 She now joins Caroline Marks and Caity Simmers in an elite club of American ISA Girls U16 World Champions.

From first-time ISA surfers to proven podium threats, this crew showed heart, grit, and serious progression. The experience, friendships, and confidence they’re taking home are pure gold too.

Whew! 😅 Today was a nervy one for Team USA, competing against the world’s best under 18 surfers at the 2025 World Junior Surfing Championship! 🇺🇸🇵🇪🌊

The Girls U16 squad put in work at El Bosque (Podium 2): 🔥 Bailey Turner turned the screws with a huge layback blowtail for a 6.83 to lock her spot through 🔥 Victoria “Vicky” Duprat stacked 13.00 points with razor-sharp backhand surfing 🔥 Olivia Storrer shook off a slow start and finished strong to keep USA momentum rolling

Tomorrow the girls get to take on Punta Rocas (Podium 1) with BOTH Girls U18 & U16 hitting the main stage, while Boys U18 take on El Bosque. Buckle up.

Over at Punta Rocas today, the boys performed under pressure: 🔹 Dane Libby opened the day with rhythm & carves for a clutch heat win 🔹 Will Deane stayed composed and found the wave he needed to advance 🔹 Laird Lavik navigated a tricky, shutting-down lineup, then dug deep to find the scores to move on

Day 4 in Peru: TEAM USA LOCKED ON THE PODIUM 🥇💥🇺🇸🌊

Dispatch from coach Simmo at the 2025 World Junior Surfing Championship:

“We kicked off at Punta Rocas with Brody Price surfing like he was back at the Lane Slot bowl — big carves and tail slides to punch his ticket through. Next up, Makai Castle navigated a slower heat with smart tactics and heat savvy to keep the momentum rolling.

Then it was over to El Bosque where the Girls U18 crew reminded everyone why they’re a threat: Kylie Pulcini, Avery McDonald, and Lanea Mons all laid down powerful rail carves and big, committed finishes. 🫡

Dramatic moment of the day: Avery’s leash string snapped and she literally bodysurfed a dumpy section, landing on her fins and grabbing her board before it washed in — saving the heat and the run. 😂🤯

We wrapped back at Punta Rocas with rookie Cash Souter coming up huge, hammering solid rail gouges under the inside peak and showing the nerves are officially gone.”

The day ended with a little 🪩💃dance party back at the Team House to give team Physical Therapist Isiah Yoder his official USA Surfing 🇺🇸💥

Day 3 in Peru: HEAT WINS ACROSS THE BOARD 💥🇺🇸🌊

Big day for Team USA at the 2025 World Junior Surfing Championship, going four-for-four with heat wins against the world’s best under-18 surfers.

🔥 Dane Libby set the tone at Punta Rocas with powerful surfing and a dominant win.
🔥 Laird Lavik followed it up with a pair of 7s, laying down sharp rail work for his heat win.
🔥 Over at Podium 2 at El Bosque, Olivia Storrer locked in her own clutch heat win.
🔥 Back at Punta Rocas, Cash Souter closed the day strong to keep the momentum rolling.

Every surfer on USA Surfing’s squad now has at least one heat under their belt — nerves out, confidence up, and absolutely frothing for the rest of the week. 🤙
