👣With barefoot shoes becoming more popular than ever, (and now cuter styles 😊) I wanted to share a quick perspective from my 30+ years as a bodyworker and barefoot runner of 10 years.
👣While I LOVE the intention behind barefoot training and the newfound awareness, I am seeing more foot, ankle, knee, and lower body injuries within the studio when people switch too quickly. If your feet are stiff, weak, misaligned, or already in pain, simply taking off the big supportive shoe may do more harm than good.
👣Our feet need preparation and thoughtful transition. It doesn’t have to be all or nothing.
