It’s a rainy day in So Cal and this therapist was inspired watching Moana. My kiddos have good taste!
Is this not what we do in trauma therapy? Work through trauma generalizing and defining a person (think NCs EMDR folks) Trauma never has to define someone. Te Fiti just needed to be reminded of this, and then she could connect to the beautiful goddess that is her true self.
That beautiful spark is in all of us! (The self in IFS therapy)
Happy New Year!

I even snuck a little game of thrones into this one. Sorry had to amend the quote. Westeros was misogynistic AF.

Link in bio! New video to help EMDR clinicians and clients set up visual and low-tech targets for EMDR sessions online via Telehealth. I've run some connection glitches with clients. And this seems to be the best solution! Hope this helps everybody continue their healing during quarantine.

is on to something here... Did you know shaking is a common response to trauma processing? We see it and both EMDR and somatic informed work. It helps the body release the tension of a traumatic moment. Especially when a person was immobilized or not able to move. And it is super healing! When you're not in a clinical setting and feeling stressed... Put on your jams and dance around! You'll burn off some adrenaline and cortisols... And feel a heck of a lot better. Happy movin' my dears!

What if a supportive therapist was as close as your phone or computer?

Get the therapy you need through telehealth in California, including EMDR and other therapies for trauma. In-person counseling is still an effective way to work with a therapist. But when you need more flexible options, telehealth opens the door to a wider range of choices.

What are the benefits of telehealth counseling?
● You can choose your therapist based on their specialty instead of location.
● Telehealth sessions may fit better into your schedule.
● Specialized services like EMDR are now available to more people.
● In California insurance is required to treat telehealth the same as in person therapy.

How does telehealth work for counseling therapy?
● You set an appointment with your therapist for the first session and receive access to a web portal.
● Do your intake paperwork via your web portal.
● You and your therapist connect online through a video chat service or app.
● You do therapy sessions when they work with your schedule.
● Your therapist may offer more ways to stay in touch. Some options are secure instant messaging or voice messaging.

Many types of therapy can be done via telehealth in California, including EMDR. Getting treatment for trauma is a vital part of healing.

Visit my website in bio to set up an appointment, and let therapy come to you.
