I remember the first time someone touched my psoas. π―
It was my first Rolfer - I came in for a session with serious low back pain.
I thought to myself.... why is this guy digging into my belly? I said my low back was hurting. π§
As he lowered his fingers down I remember feeling scared.. guarded, and I wanted to run out of the room. πββοΈ βοΈ
Slowly, focusing on my breath and my intention of welcoming relief by any means necessary... I allowed him to continue, and finally he made contact.
It felt bizarre, strange, unlike anything I had ever experienced before.
Afterward I went for my walk around the room... puzzled. I was wondering where my pain had gone. For the first time in months, it simply... wasn't there. mind blown π€―
This was only the beginning of my healing process, but I finally felt like the solution I was looking for was real.. it existed and I was finally on my way back to my wild and free self. π
In the words of Dr Rolf, "Where you think it is, it ain't."
The beautiful thing about this work is, once you learn to overcome your own resistance to change... possibilities are endless. π€
