The news from yesterday is hitting me so hard. So many feelings today.
Many of you may not know, but I was formerly a hospital chaplain. My work was with families who were grieving.
Here’s a reminder to take a break today. Give yourself a break from the news. Attend to your needs:
✨ rest
✨ nourishing comfort food
✨ spending time with loved ones
✨ letting someone you trust know how you are feeling
✨make time for any coping practices (walking, journaling) or spiritual practices (prayers, vigils) that support you
The five stages of grief can appear in any order: Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, Acceptance
Welcome your feelings as a guest, but know that guests come and go.
There are many advocacy groups around this issue, and you are always welcome to join. ❤️
