After years of holding space for healing in my private practice, I’m writing with a big update:

I’ve officially closed my private practice and have relocated to Scottsdale, Arizona, where I’m now working full-time with Envita Medical Centers—a team I deeply respect for their integrative, whole-person approach to care.

This transition has been both exciting and bittersweet. Serving my patients and craniosacral students has been one of the greatest honors of my life. I’ve grown alongside each of you—and your stories and healing journeys continue to live in my heart.

✨ While I’m not accepting new patients privately at this time, you can still stay connected. Join my newsletter at www.drmeganmarie.com to receive future updates, reflections, and healing insights.

Thank you for trusting me with your health, your stories, and your growth. I’m grateful beyond words.

Love on your health journey,
Dr. Megan Marie, ND

🧀🍞 Why are bread and cheese so hard to quit?

Because it’s not just about willpower or comfort eating—some foods actually create morphin-like compounds in your body.

Casomorphins (from dairy) and gliadomorphins (from gluten) bind to your opioid receptors—the same ones that respond to endorphins, morphine, and yes...heroin.

I’m not saying they’re as potent as drugs. But for sensitive systems, these peptides can hijack your gut-brain connection and lead to a craving-crash cycle that’s way more than psychological.

This week’s post breaks it all down, plus gives tools for support, swaps, and gut repair. 🧠💪

✨This is what self-care looks like✨

Not a bubble bath.
Not a face mask.
Not a “treat yourself” latte.

Two hours on a Sunday afternoon.
One messy kitchen.
And a whole lot of love for Future Me.

I made:
🥚 Protein and veggie breakfasts for the week
🥬 Sautéed veggies for quick rice or grain bowls
🍫 Hormone-friendly pre-period chocolate treats
🧄 Homemade hummus (because store-bought just doesn’t hit the same)

Meal prep isn’t glamorous—but it is powerful.
This is how I stay grounded, clear-headed, and inflammation-free during the week.

I’m not stressing over what to eat.
I’m not skipping meals or grabbing snacks that spike my blood sugar and tank my mood.
And I’m definitely not feeling guilty about my food choices.

Because I already showed up for myself.
That’s self-care.
And honestly? It feels so good.

Cholesterol, fat, and carbs—oh my!
We’ve been told so many things about what’s “bad” or “good” for us, but the truth is a lot more nuanced (and empowering).

In this post, I’m busting nutrition myths and helping you understand what your body really needs—without the fear.

Your body is wise. Let’s honor that.

✨“Do you see it happening?”✨
A patient asked me this during a recent distance CST session—right as his shoulder released, and I gently said, “There it goes.”

At that exact moment.

He was amazed.
I smiled.
Because… yes. I do experience it. Not with my physical eyes, but with something deeper.

Craniosacral therapy or distance healing can feel mysterious at first—but like conducting an orchestra, it’s about sensing the whole, guiding with intention, and listening to every part of the body, mind, and spirit until they come into harmony.

Curious what your body might say, if someone could hear it?

📚 Menopause Is Having a Moment — and I’m Here for It

You might’ve noticed: menopause is finally getting the attention it deserves. For too long, women have been left in the dark about this major life transition — brushed off, under-supported, and made to feel like they're just supposed to power through.

I’ve been diving into The Menopause Brain by Dr. Lisa Mosconi, and even though I’m only a little ways in, it’s already highlighting just how complex, powerful, and misunderstood this time can be — especially when it comes to brain health.

As a naturopathic doctor, I'm always learning — not just to expand my own knowledge, but to better support the women I work with every day. Midlife isn't the end of vitality. It’s a powerful transformation. And you deserve a practitioner who sees that.

What if your reflux isn’t because of too much acid?

It might sound wild—but many cases of GERD are actually due to pressure and poor motility, not overproduction of stomach acid. Your body needs acid to break down food, absorb nutrients, and fight pathogens.

But when food lingers too long in the stomach (hello sluggish digestion, missing gallbladder bile, or poor stomach tone), pressure builds and forces acid upward—into places it doesn’t belong. Cue heartburn, bloating, and discomfort.

So while antacids can give short-term relief, they don’t solve the root cause—and long-term use can cause nutrient deficiencies, slow digestion further, and even increase your risk of infection.

👉 This carousel walks you through what’s really going on and how to support your body in healing instead of suppressing.

📌 Save this post if you or someone you love has been told, “You just have too much acid.”

Health doesn’t happen by accident.
It’s not a magic supplement or a 30-day challenge.
It’s the everyday choices we make.
The boundaries we set.

✨ The moments we decide to be intentional instead of impulsive. ✨

Being “health conscious” isn’t about being perfect.
It’s about being conscious.
Aware.
Present with your choices.

Ask yourself:
Does this support the life I’m building?
Does this choice move me closer to the version of me I want to be?

You don’t have to overhaul your life overnight.

You just have to start showing up differently in the small moments.

That’s where health lives.

Play with it: do you feel healthier when you *don’t* eat out?

Lemme know if you had this experience or if you’re interested in trying it out!

The past is written in stone.

We tell ourselves that looking back is “reflecting”—that it’s how we grow. And sometimes it is. But often, we’re just revisiting the past hoping to rewrite it.

We can’t.

That version of you? She’s done. Her chapter is complete.

But you now—with your wisdom, experience, and clarity—you get to make new choices. You get to shape your future.

So instead of rehashing what she should’ve done, honor her. Thank her. And let her rest. You’ve got it from here.

Looking back won’t move you forward.

“I am not she. I am not her. I am myself now. I am that I am now. And I’m moving forward.”

I practice what I preach—every day includes some nature time. For me, that often looks like a few walks through the neighborhood with one (or all) of the fur babies in tow.

Sunshine on the skin helps regulate circadian rhythms, boost vitamin D, and support immune and nervous system health. Just being outside—breathing fresh air, listening to birdsong, feeling the wind—can shift you out of fight-or-flight and into rest-and-digest. Nature is medicine.

How do you get your nature time in?
