In 2013, U.S. Army Green Beret Nick Lavery stepped in front of machine gun fire during an insider attack in Afghanistan, saving a teammate but losing his own leg.

The burst shattered his leg and severed his femoral artery, forcing an above-the-knee amputation to save his life.

Instead of retiring, Lavery underwent more than 30 surgeries and intense rehabilitation, determined to return to duty.

By 2015, he became the first above-the-knee amputee in U.S. military history to return to active combat, later completing elite training courses and continuing his service. Leadership by example. 🫡🇺🇸

Alright LA Vets, we are hosting another therapy ride coming your way. EVA LA's Rep, Tim will be hosting all the LA rides so a lot of fun to come.

Big congrats to EVA LV SAA for representing EVA while you raced w/ the best in world and podium this weekend at Sea Otter Classic in Monterey, CA. He had 2 races each day.

-Circuit Road Race (22nd place)
-Enduro (8th place

Friday:
-E-Enduro (5th place)
-EMTB (1st place)

Saturday:
-Crit Road Race (8th Place
-Downhill (9th place)

This was one for the books. These guys n gal came out to do a half-day enduro/DH day and had a blast. From Black to Double-Black to even a Red rated trail they handled it all. Definitely a long day w no time to relax as literally every corner had a butt-puckering surprise but these guys n gal handled it wo question. Great fricken job Team. I'd say I'm glad we got off the mountain unscathed, but you had to be there..😜. IYKYK 😭
