Weaving was essential to my sanity as my indoor hobby while I was stationed at Sault Sainte Marie, especially during the long winters in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula living long distance from my daughter.

Since my 13mo. deployment overseas and my now 1 year being stationed in San Diego with my daughter, I’ve found new purpose with my time.

Recently wove a project during a rare rainy day while my daughter was healing from her surgery.

Thankful for the years this craft pushed me through some hard times. And grateful for every day that provides a renewed purpose.

My first time natural dying was enlightening as I learned how to weigh, scour, mordant, & dye protein fibers (alpaca, wool, & silk).

I love revealing nature’s beauty, and working with these 3 plants•Scabiosa, Goldenrod, and Murasaki root•only elevated my inspiration.
•powers teaching at brought together artists from around the country who actively and selflessly improve individual’s lives through the proceeds of their art. Blessed to be surrounded by nature and those who make a positive impact on the environment and humanity.

I felt like a kid in a candy store…I can’t wait to can! When you’re active military it’s hard to gain roots…owning my own hobby farm with acreage is a goal of mine. In the meantime, while I save up for that dream, I will enjoy the harvest of local farms.

I’m thankful that both of my grandmas, Barbara Cash & RoseMary Hynes gardened, canned, and preserved-because it was passed down to me.

My grandparents canned & preserved as a means of survival and saving money. For me, I enjoy the clean eating and the flavor-the money saved and gratification are additional.

I decided to separate my last project into 2 wall hangings, and keep my 1st set of wall hangings for myself.💜 I love them. ••
It was the 1st project I made with my Grandma’s wool, on my Grandma’s loom.🐑 ••
The pattern I created resembles a compass, which is fitting since I have served in the U.S. Coast Guard active duty for the past decade.••
Every color represents it’s own meaning.••
And family is the center of my dream soul, my heart.••

Trinity Celtic Knot; three interlaced arcs that have no start or finish. Threads symbolizing a variance-life and eternity interconnected; the holy trinity; the honor of the mother, maiden, and goddess.•••
These threads represent the sum of all, and so much more.•••
