So Why the Name ‘Stinkbug Candles’?

Everyone who knows me knows that I have kind of an obsession with bugs. I even have a few bug tattoos!🪲🐞✨ Naturally I wanted to incorporate bugs into my little business.

Deciding which bug would have the honor was the hard part. I love ladybugs, beetles, bees, butterflies, and many more. Ultimately I decided to go unconventional and pick ‘stinkbug’.
The name was interesting and kind of served as a hook.

Fun Fact: My mom hates the name I chose haha😅 she also does not like my bug themed tattoos lol

Now you know the store behind my interesting choice of name. 🐝🐞🪲🦋🦗🐛🐌

So Why Not Soy?

1. Soy wax may have a weaker scent throw due to being all natural. Being all natural means there are no additives to really grab onto the scent and it is entirely dependent on the wax itself to pick up the scent. 🕯

2. Soy wax does not have a glossy finish when it burns. 🕯

The issues with soy wax for the most part appear to be entirely cosmetic. Besides these flaws I still personally believe soy wax is one the safer and more sustainable options. 💚🕯🌱

So Why Soy?

1. Soy wax is 100% natural and a completely renewable source! 🌎🌱

2. The burn of soy wax candles is both slowly and longer allowing for the candle to last longer. 🕯

3. The melting point of soy wax is one of the lowest of other waxes. Soy wax begins to burn at 113 - 127°F. This means that the burn is cooler and the wax is not as hot as other types such as paraffin and beeswax. ✨
