I guess it’s about time to announce that PIPH has folded and closed its doors. We are very sad 😢 and selling everything off.

We are extraordinarily grateful 🙏🏼to all the families, friends, and beautiful contacts and support we’ve had while trying to build this dream medical health clinic. I think we are just a little too far ahead of our time to make this work in such a large scale for pediatrics. A pandemic and a flood certainly didn’t help, either.

It’s been a ride, for sure. Dr. Bret and Dr. Reneé are contemplating their next steps but won’t be moving PIPH anywhere. It is done. You can follow each of us individually, though we both are admittedly very bad and wary of posting on Social Media…

What is one thing you can do right now to help yourself and your children to have a healthy heart? .... Physical Activity.

Children 3-5 years old should be physically active and have plenty of opportunities to move throughout the day.

Kids 6-17 years old should get at least 60 minutes per day of moderate- to vigorous-intensity physical activity, mostly aerobic.

Include vigorous-intensity activity on at least 3 days per week.

Include muscle- and bone-strengthening (weight-bearing) activities on at least 3 days per week and increase amount and intensity gradually over time.

Some examples of beneficial activities for children:
- Brisk walking (at least 2.5 miles per hour) and hiking uphill
- Running
- Dancing
- Jumping rope
- Swimming laps
- Heavy yardwork
- Tennis
- Cycling 10 miles per hour

Children are naturally active. As they grow into adolescents, they tend to become less active. This is especially true for girls, who may need even more support and encouragement to stay active. Don’t be surprised or disappointed if your kids’ interests shift or they lose interest in activities they used to love. Help them find other activities they can enjoy instead of becoming inactive.

We have stepped away from insurance-based care and have changed to a monthly/yearly fee-based service. We feel we can offer you more time, support, a wider range of activities and inclusive services through this model. We offer services a la carte for those who don’t wish to join our office or have their own primary care provider.
