Friday 5! Here are 5 Things About Me (that you probably didn’t know)🙋🏼‍♀️

1. I work in the aesthetics industry. I help dermatologists and plastic surgeons create their own skin care brand.

2. I’m the middle child. I’ve two older sisters and two younger brothers. One sis in NY and the rest are in Ireland ☘️.

3. I met my hubby on 👩‍❤️‍👨 It’s a great story that maybe I’ll share sometime.

4. Even though my favorite place on earth to be is by the ocean, 🌊I have a fear of it, and I cannot swim.

5. My favorite holiday is Christmas. 🎄🎅 Yes I’m already listening to holiday music 🎶😜

Healthy hormones = healthy bones? That is right. Hormones play a huge role in the health of our bones. 🦴

Some of you may know that I was diagnosed with osteopenia, which puts me at higher risk of developing osteoporosis. So, I do what I can to maintain healthy bones. 💪🏼

Hormones either build or break down muscle and bone. Estrogen and testosterone are builders, while cortisol contributes to breakdown.

👩🏽 For women, estrogen plays a significant role, acting as a check on the cells that break down bone and stimulates the cells that build it. However, menopause can take its toll as declining estrogen levels cause women to lose up to 3 percent of their bone mass annually during menopausal years. 😥

How can you help your body regulate hormones? Maintain a healthy diet, a good exercise routine, and do all you can to reduce stress and avoid cortisol overload❗

It is also a good idea to get a bone-density test before menopause to determine if any lifestyle changes are needed to protect your bones.✅

Menopause is a natural part of any woman’s life. The symptoms associated with the hormonal changes that take place during this time can be uncomfortable and unpleasant. Fortunately, there are a variety of dietary, herbal, and lifestyle modifications that can naturally support the body through this transition and help minimize symptoms.

The average age of Perimenopause in the US is 47 and can last 1-10 years.
