🌍 World Hospice and Palliative Care Day – October 11, 2025

Each year, World Hospice and Palliative Care Day brings together providers and advocates around the globe to raise awareness about the importance of compassionate, dignified care. This year’s theme, “Achieving the Promise: Universal Access to Palliative Care,” highlights the urgent need to make quality care accessible to everyone — regardless of where they live or their circumstances. 💜

More than 73 million people need palliative care each year, yet only 14% receive it. At Radiant Hospice, we’re proud to stand with the global community in expanding access to care that relieves suffering, preserves dignity, and supports patients and families through every stage of serious illness.

Radiant Hospice had the honor of pinning eight veterans in a special We Honor Veterans ceremony — including one of our very own patients, who shared reflections from his time in service. 🇺🇸💜

The team at Golden Living Point Loma was deeply appreciative, and we were grateful for the chance to honor these veterans and their sacrifices.

A little pampering goes a long way ✨

Our wonderful volunteers Janelle, JoAnne, and John hosted a spa day at Skyview Gardens, offering hand massages and nail care to residents. The smiles said it all. 💜

The staff were so appreciative — especially when they realized this was extended to all the ladies in the facility, not just our Radiant patients.

September 21st is World Alzheimer’s Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness about Alzheimer’s disease — the most common form of dementia, responsible for 60-80% of cases. 💜

First introduced in 1994 by Alzheimer’s Disease International, this day honors those living with Alzheimer’s, their families, and caregivers, while working to break down stigma and share education.

At Radiant Hospice, we stand with everyone impacted by this disease and remain committed to bringing hope, support, and comfort care to patients, families, and our community.

Music has a way of lifting spirits 🎶💜 Recently, our volunteer Ishaani brought that gift to the residents and staff at Skyview Gardens in Poway.

She performed on the traditional Indian instrument, the Veena — which just so happens to share the same name as her mom, Veena, who also volunteers with Radiant ✨

The challenges of working in the U.S. health care system have been an existential threat to clinician well-being for years. The pandemic has only exacerbated the pressures confronting clinicians, accelerating the rates of depression, anxiety, burnout, moral distress, moral injury, trauma, grief, etc.

The Health Care Professional Well-Being toolkit provides resources that clinicians and teams can use to support well-being. CAPC firmly believes that it is the responsibility of organization, state, and federal leaders to create a more supportive and sustainable environment for health care clinicians. We have included individual resources to normalize your experiences and help bridge the gap if you are struggling. However, we urge leaders to consider participating in advocacy and initiatives that can help change the U.S. health care landscape.
