“What’s the worst thing you’ve ever seen?”

Every medic hears this question. Most learn to deflect it.

Not because the work is shameful. Not because the question is wrong. The deflection exists because the answer carries weight that was never meant to be entertainment.

The worst calls are not single moments. They are layers of pride, grief, honor, exhaustion, connection, and guilt. So we raise a shield. Often that shield looks like silence.

Silence protects the public. It protects the medic. Yet it also hides the meaning of the work.

We do not need more war stories. We need better stories. Stories about presence. About sitting with someone in their worst moment. About the privilege of being trusted when everything falls apart.

The shield was never meant to be silence.

It was meant to be honor, service, and care.

Not silence. Meaning.

this week our Christmas cards went out with a very specific purpose. To celebrate clinicians.

The men and women who answer the call on Christmas morning. Who carry responsibility into chaotic moments. Who serve their communities with humility, professionalism, and courage.

We are thankful for the trust clinicians place in us to support their work. That relationship means everything to us, and we don’t take it lightly.

From our team to yours, thank you for what you do and who you are. Merry Christmas.

It is here! Ho ho ho! 🎅 🎄

The official Resus Tailor Christmas Mug 2025 just dropped.
Inside a cozy winter cabin Santa Sasquatch is finally settling in with a warm drink while an ambulance waits outside for the next call. There is also a full nativity and reindeer traffic which honestly tracks with an EMS holiday.

We printed a small batch and expect these to move fast.

Perfect for night shifts, early mornings, or as a gift for the medic who has seen too much.
Grab yours before they disappear.

Resuscitationists have always needed to MacGyver solutions. Creating a manikin that can actually vomit. Tubing the goose in the days BDC (Before DuCanto Catheter)

There has always been an identity around figuring things out while pushing the standard of care forward.

Innovation often starts in those moments. A gap appears. Through trial and error, something workable begins to emerge.

In the beginning, that resourceful mindset is exactly what drives progress. Over time, though, a system held together with duct tape and gum becomes difficult to sustain.

Duct tape and gum are often the first step. The next step is standardizing and consistently delivering that same level of performance regardless of crew, environment, or conditions.

This is where we shift from strategy to logistics. This is where something novel becomes something expert. Resuscitationists elevate the next wave of adopters when the system is built to support excellence.

This shift requires attention to the details. Bag architecture. Cart layouts. Equipment placement. Workflow choices that either help teams perform or quietly get in their way.

Creativity gets us started. Thoughtful design carries us into the next stage of readiness, reliability, and excellence.

Excelsior Ambulance Service continues to set the pace in their region. Their team put in six months of careful evaluation to choose a medication setup that helps their clinicians move faster and care for patients with even greater efficiency.

Seeing a service take this level of ownership over design, workflow, and readiness speaks volumes about their commitment to the community.

Proud to see teams like Excelsior leading the way in prehospital innovation and always pushing for what improves outcomes.

đź”´ Design Improves Outcomes

When your team’s standard is excellence, design matters.

Blacksburg Volunteer Rescue Squad found a no-cost way to elevate performance using their MEDCORE-2.

đź’‰ For units carrying medication vials, they integrated a vial loop for clean access.
🚫 For those without vials, the elastic disappears — maintaining a streamlined, clutter-free layout.
🏷️ They even added labels using a label maker to make identification under pressure effortless.

This is what it looks like when the standard is the standard — thoughtful customization, intentional organization, and gear that works the way you work.

Better design = better performance = better outcomes.
