World Hepatitis Day
Hepatitis is a condition or disease marked by inflammation of the liver caused by several factors including autoimmune disorder, viruses, and excessive alcohol consumption. There are various types of , but not all of them are infectious viruses like Hepatitis A, B, C, D, and E, the five main forms of the disease. Toxic hepatitis, for example, is non-infectious and causes inflammation of the liver when someone breathes, touches, or ingests a harmful chemical. Alcohol-induced hepatitis is also non-infectious, causing inflammation of the liver from alcohol abuse. While these two forms of hepatitis may be non-infectious they can lead to acute and even chronic liver failure if they are not treated.
