I walked down to the ocean this morning, opened my notes on my phone, and wrote “open your eyes”.

That phrase came right through to me and it was a reminder to slow down, and really SEE the beauty around me.

Even though I don’t go a day without saying how thankful I am for my life, my health, and everything I have, I can get “used to” things in my life.

After writing that, I really saw how beautiful the ocean sounded as it lapped over the sand, the birds singing in the trees, and the feel of the air on my skin. I really saw the people around me and felt the health and vitality in my body.

Just that simple reminder changed the trajectory of of my day- to simply see and be present to what is right in front of me.

I wanted to share this experience so maybe you can open your eyes a little wider today too 🤍

I absolutely adore Monday mornings! 🤍 It's such a gift to wake up bright and early and teach my 7:30am vinyasa class.

Honestly, starting the week and the day in that way sets you up for success, whatever success means to you personally.

When we started off today's class, I invited everyone to lie down, with their right hand on their heart and left hand on their belly.

Then, I asked them to close their eyes and imagine their ideal day ahead.

I asked, “after you step off your mats,

- What type of conversations will you have today? Nourishing ones or draining ones?
- What type of food will you consume today? High-vibrational and healthy foods? Or foods that leave you feeling fatigued?
- Are you present during your interactions?
- Are you smiling at strangers?
- Are you doing just one thing to get one step closer to your goals?
- How do you feel when you rest your head on your pillow that night?

Doing this visual meditation and envisioning their perfect day has such a profound impact ✨

I’m not the same person if I don’t get a good nights rest 🫠

Sleep is so so so important to me. I actually never really had a night time ritual a couple years ago and my sleep quality showed.

I wanted to share a few things that truly have been life changing (sleep changing?) for me 👉🏼

*disclosure, I’m also human so sometimes I eat late, have some margs in the evening, etc 😉 but the majority of the time I follow this nightly ritual 💗

I experience what is unreal to understand what is real.

I experience what is darkness to understand what is light.

I experience what dies to understand what is eternal.

I experience heartbreak to know what is love.

The beauty & duality of both sides of life to truly show us what IS. We can’t know one without the other.

My intention for this guided meditation is that you are able to begin your day in a loving, grounded, and intentional way.

I truly believe that the way you wake up and begin your day sets the trajectory for the rest of it.

I love the sound of the pages flicking against my fingers. Print against fingerprints. Books make people quiet, yet they are so loud 🤍

Books are so nostalgic for me, I always feel transported back to being with my mom .m.davis on the beach during the summers. Warm sun on my skin, my feet nestled in the sand, and all I hear are distant waves crashing and the flickering of one of us turning a page.

Carried into the night, curled up in the side of the couch, under a small light. Not sleeping until I finished the page turning book!

I remember one summer I read 13 novels…. I can’t tell if that’s a problem or not. But a lot of sunshine was taken in & lots of beach time with my mom 🫶🏽

What are some good book recommendations?! 🙏🏽

You know how on a cloudy day, you can feel super tired, not as motivated, and just want to stay inside? (or at least that’s true for me!) ☁️

I always find it fun to think about how just behind those dark clouds, the sun is shining in a bright blue sky. We just can’t see it because the clouds are obstructing it ☁️

It’s the same with our emotions. We can be so wrapped up in our thoughts & forget that they are just distracting us from what’s really underneath it all, at any given time. The light in us 💛 it’s always present and always inside us.

Clouds come and go, and so do our emotions. But on those emotionally cloudy days, just remember you have access to the beautiful light behind the clouds. You need need to remind yourself 💛 you never lose that light inside you, you just misplace it.
