As our nation reels over the issues of racism and socioeconomic divide, unfortunately one equalizer is Skin Cancer. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

All too often, people of color falsely believe their darker pigmentation, ability to tan easily, and lack of sunburns protects them from skin cancer. Nothing could be farther from the truth. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In fact, skin cancer in people of color is often diagnosed at a later, more serious stage and is more likely to be a cause of death than in caucasians. And, for people of color, skin cancer often occurs in areas that are sun protected, such as the palms of the hands, soles of the feet, inside the mouth, on the groin or between the buttocks. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
People of ALL colors should get a complete head to toe skin examination by a at least once a year. When detected early, skin cancer can be 💯% curable. Don't let racial bias take your life.
