If your kid has ānever been a good sleeper,ā youāre not aloneāand itās not your fault.
We just met a kid with ASD who screams trying to fall asleepā¦wakes up screamingā¦and has never once slept a full night. šš„
Momās tried everythingādark room, white noise, humidifier, changing bedtimesā and the whole family is still exhausted.
Hereās what most parents arenāt told: sleep lives in the nervous system. š§ ā”ļø
When the upper neck is in distress, the body can get stuck on the āgas pedalā (fight-or-flight), š¦šØ making it hard to settle and stay asleep.
That distress can come from different thingsābirth injury, falls, or simply stacking little stresses over time. šĀ
šĀ At our office, we go to the root of itāand we measure.
For kids, we run gentle nervous system scans ānon-invasive thermal scansā to see where the stress is showing up (like the one on the last slide ā¬ļø), especially in the upper neck. š
š§āāļøĀ Then we create a plan to help the body shift back to ābrake pedalā mode.
When the nervous system calms, sleep often followsā easier settling, fewer night wakings, and a more rested, happier family. š¤šØāš©āš§āš¦
If this sounds like your child, we can help. š
